Are you listening?
Last week on my first week back, I promised to make time today for you to share what you have learned over the past ten weeks. This might be a biblical truth, a new insight, a prayer answered, or a personal circumstance needing resolution or having been resolved. It may be a future hope, an idea you've had, a plan you are hatching. It may be positive or negative, new or evolving. It's hard to make time to listen so please come and share. When I mentioned the above plan, several people came to share their stories andexperiences. Thank you.I remember when we lived at Cornerstone (a Christian community) Narelle, one of the 18- year-old students, was widely regarded as the wisest counsellor. I asked her where she had gleaned her skills? She said she hadn't any skills! She admitted she was terrified of people and just sat next to them in silence. And they would talk and she would go, "Hmmm," because she had nothing to say.John calls the Holy Spirit "Counsellor" (John 14:26). Many people complain that God doesn't speak loudly enough. Perhaps that's because he's listening to you. The Father says to the disciples, "This is my Son, listen to him."Most of us wish we had more opportunities to be heard and more people to listen to us.Listen to what people have to share this morning. My sense on returning is that He might speak through you and your testimonies.Thank you. Malcolm
