A Missionary Adventure
Please join me in welcoming Brad Galvin to St Philips today. The Galvin's are stepping into a missionary adventure with the Church Missionary Society - or CMS. St Philips have been CMS supporters for decades. Now we have the joy of locating that support in real people.Brad's wife Nerolie sends her apologies. She is sitting expectantly in King Edward hospital on the cusp of delivering twins! The Galvin's other three daughters are being cared for by friends.Be kind to Brad today, won't you? He is in reality a man in a kind of joyful crisis! As you ponder the theme running through the preaching at the moment of "What Now?!", spare a prayer for Brad and Nerolie.Today we will hear something of their journey of faith in Jesus. I cannot imagine that Brad, in his wildest dreams, could have foreseen, at the beginning of that journey, himself standing before you today.Even more so standing before you sharing what God has done to have led he and his family to be heading overseas with three growing girls and brand new twin babies!I know some of you will be thinking, "madness". You may be right but the Galvin's are firmly in the tradition of millions of God's people who have moved in accountable and responsible faith in a God they know personally. They know that God as faithful. Faithful in his call and his commission whatever the earthly challenges. It is a privilege for me to be behind them in that. Please have a chat with Brad today - especially get some points for prayer to post on your fridge and offer them to God each time you open it. Let's commit to partnering with the Galvins to see what God does with the lives they have committed to Him.In Jesus' AdventureMalcolm
