St Philips Fund
The St Philips Fund is a trust fund for the future of St Philips’ mission
The mission of the church is to seek to be ‘good news’ in the world at a time when the Christian church is under real threat.
The real ‘mission’ is about people! People today need God’s ‘good news’ and they need to see it in action.
The St Philips Fund will financially support new mission projects that are putting God’s ‘good news’ into action.
As fewer people experience any connection to Christian faith or religious buildings (which have symbolized ‘bad news’ for some), Jesus’ words to “go into the world and make disciples” have more and more urgency.
Jesus IS ‘good news’ and our communities will be better for his presence.
Where does the Money come from?
The St Philips Fund seeks contributions from one off financial windfalls. For example a significant inheritance that leaves substantial discretionary funds.
The St Philips Fund does not seek donations out of people’s savings or income.
How does the Fund work?
The St Philips Fund is a trust held by the Anglican Diocese of Perth, for the benefit of St Philips Cottesloe. The income that comes from the funds investments will be distributed by the Parish Council of St Philips Cottesloe on an annual basis. The annual income can only be distributed for the purposes of the mission of St Philips Cottesloe, not church buildings or maintenance.
What is the Fund for?
The St Philips Fund is for financially supporting things like – training, equipping, hiring venues, staff costs, travel costs, educational costs, scholarships, partnering with others and simply buying time to show love and mercy. It is the invisible enabler for anything that encourages ‘good news’ ventures to flourish.
